Andrew Coates (MBA 1995), Co-Founder of 4th Party PL

Andrew is a start-up founder and new venture manager with over fourteen years building new digital businesses in both the consumer and enterprise sectors in Australia and internationally. He also consults on digital & mobile strategy, product innovation and new venture design, with a recent focus on financial services, social buying and online education.

Andrew started his career as a strategy consultant at Accenture before founding personalisation technology company AgentArts Inc. in 2000. AgentArts developed and licensed patented personalisation and big data services to companies such as Verizon Wireless, Telstra,, Spanish Telefonica and American Greetings before the company was acquired by FAST Search in 2007. He then worked in global business development for FAST, with a focus on the Asian and US media and entertainment sector.  Since leaving FAST he co-founded Cloud Super (mobile strategy for Australian super funds), Moneytribe (social buying for financial products) and 4th Party (social buying for household products).    

Andrew also consults on digital, mobile and innovation strategy and has lead engagements for a range of companies including AMP, Mercer, Australian Super, National Tiles and Australia Post. He has specialist experience developing customer engagement, personalisation and mobile strategy including product design and rapid prototyping.

Andrew has lived and worked in both San Francisco (2000-2002) and Jakarta, Indonesia (1996/1997) and has an MBA from the Melbourne Business School.
