Grant Downie, MBA 2009, Management Consultant at Dynamic Strategies

After a career with some of Australia’s largest corporates, Grant first set up as an independent adviser in 2007 and started staging entrepreneurial events in 2010. He has a practical emphasis and works with companies of all sizes, not for profits and start ups. With sensitivity to the creativity and customer passion required in start ups, he bring simple structures like Lean Startup and Business Model Canvas to support the growth of dynamic and successful companies.

Motivation for creating InnovAction

Any business attempting rapid growth requires a fine balance of action orientation and structure. Grant’s broad experience across business types and functions, enables him to add value to startups trying to scale as well as enterprises looking to innovate.

Through international collaboration partnerships, Grant identified and brought Launch48, a weekend business launch format, and the Startup Leadership Program, a General Management course for founders, to Australia. He now complements these programs with events such as the Melbourne Startup Walkabout and the Entrepreneurial Women panel.

Grant is passionate about being able to significantly lift the maturity and capability of the Melbourne and Australian startup community and the international competitiveness of other growing companies around Australia and the region.

Grant has an MBA from Mt Eliza/ Melbourne Business School, a B Eng, is a graduate member at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a professional member at the Australian Human Resources Institute.
