Adjunct Professor Peter Verhezen

Peter is the Managing Director of Verhezen & Associates Ltd, a management consultancy firm (in association/collaboration with Booz & Co Indonesia and Amrop Indonesia) that specializes in Board Consulting, Integrated Risk Management, and Corporate Governance for Asian Emerging Markets and Australia. Currently, he is currently collaborating with International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a Senior Advisor addressing Corporate Governance issues in the Asia Pacific region. Peter is also an Adjunct Professor in Corporate Governance, Strategy and Risk Management in Emerging Markets at the Melbourne Business School (MBS).

Other academic appointments also include Vlerick management School, the University of Antwerp where he is visiting professor, and the Ash Institute for Governance and Asian Studies of the Harvard Kennedy School where he was a Fellow. He has been a guest speaker at a number of international institutes  among which The European
Parliament, Oxford, CEIBS, Hong Kong University, Fudan University, Harvard Kennedy School, INSEAD Singapore, Singapore Management University, Twenty Uni, Moscow Business School, IPMI, Institut Technologi Bandung and University of Indonesia, Hanoi Banking Institute, The World Bank HQ, Stockholm University, Budapest Corvenus University to name a few.

He was Managing Partner of C-Consulting and Cimad Pacific, an ICT consultancy spin off from IBM, which he ran for about 15 years (within the ASEAN-­‚ÄźAustralia region). During the Asian crisis in 1997, he was Senior Financial Advisor for IBRA (Ministry of Finance of Indonesia). He received his MA in International Relations & Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp (Belgium), his MBA Finance from [Vlerick] Leuven Business School in association with Chicago Booth School of Business. He also pursued his studies in Philosophy at the University of Leuven (Belgium) where he obtained his MA and PhD. His current interests are Geopolitics, Corporate Governance, Strategy, Integrated Risk Management, Ethical Leadership and Sustainable Investments. 

Peter regularly writes on the above topics interests in international journals. He is the author of Gifts,
Corruption and Philanthropy. The Ambiguity of Gift Practices in Business
(2009). He also co-authored Is Corporate Governance Relevant in Indonesia? with Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas and Pri Notowidigdo (2012).
